Selffit - As seen on TV

Property Ladder Felixstowe Kitchen (Channel4)

Channel4's Property Ladder program

Property Ladder from Talk Back Thames featured a development by furniture maker Mike Horgan and girlfriend Laura Archer, a teacher. They came to us and asked for a kitchen for the development only a few miles from our Felixstowe address. We worked directly with Mike sorting out what he wanted and gave him a price with delivery the following week to Felixstowe. We both agreed that the kitchen would suit the dwelling best and Mike was taken with the warm tones of the beautiful door. It was development for 5 bedroom Victorian semi’ in Trimley St Mary, Felixstowe, Suffolk a snip at £156,000. They knew it was great way to make money - so they’ve invested everything they own and it worked.

Mike managed to get the oven hidden in an alcove with Pilasters for each side of the appliance to make the space up and with solid wooden worktops the whole effect was finished with a large Butler Style Sink. Mike wanted to offer a contrast so Antique Oak pelmet and cornice was chosen as he works with wood and wanted to see some real solid material in place.

Honey I Ruined The House (Channel4)

Channel4's Honey I ruined the house

The new series of the Channel 4 show, 'Honey I Ruined The House' from Talk Back Thames that make many make-over programs such as Grand Designs, Property Ladder and House Doctor needed a kitchen for the second series of 'Honey I Ruined the House' for Channel 4 which consists of 8 programs in April 2006. For the fifth show of the series, we supplied the kitchen units for a house in Hastings. As they needed a contemporary white gloss finish, the designer thought the California range would be perfect. The company made contact and had delivery on our own van within 10 days and the results are just as good as all kitchens from Selffit.

After the successful supply of the Hastings kitchen Talk Back Thames asked us to supply another kitchen for the Reading episode a few weeks later. This was another stunning California white high gloss kitchen with slow close drawers as featured in the Hastings make over. While we did not supply the worktops we had an opportunity to have our kitchen showcased but found the kitchen was not heavily featured in the episode. Selffit are able to deliver 100% kitchens without damages and this appeals to make over programs who have a 1 week deadline to meet and cannot afford shortages meaning the kitchen is not finished. Selffit are able to this as standard and we look forward to being shown on TV again in the future.

DIY SOS (BBC)

BBC's DIY SOS program

Selffit kitchens supplied the Nevada Oak kitchen for BBC DIY SOS episode for a kitchen in Ipswich shown on the 17th of August. The Nevada solid oak doors chosen by the DIY SOS presenter and designer looked amazing complimented by contrasting Bushboard black granite laminate worktops. Another kitchen and worktops supplier let the BBC down and the kitchen was sorted and ordered within a few days and delivered on our own van 7 days later. Andy and the Selffit delivery van did not feature in the episode but the kitchen was featured along with the usual banter and comical input from the whole team. The local radio station SGR and television presenter Fern Britton also featured in the episode and Selffit are proud to have helped supply the BBC with a kitchen at such short notice even delivering an extra worktop within the hour.
